Dornie and Plockton
In the Scottish Highlands, near the Isle of Skye, Loch Duich, Loch Long, and Loch Alsh converge.
At the convergence lies Eilean Donan (Donan's Island) and on the island is the MacRae Castle.  The little town of Dornie is a short walk away.  This was the site of the Gathering of the Clan MacRae.

Our rooms were in three small inns and several B&Bs in Plockton, a small seaside town several miles away over a one-lane road with "passing places" (wide spots).

Friday:  Reception at Dornie Hall, three of our couples renewed their wedding vows at the Castle, and a Clan MacRae banquet was held at Dornie Hall.
Saturday:  Several tours were available, the Castle was open for touring, and in the evening a Clan MacRae ceilidh (party) was held at Dornie Hall.
Sunday:  The Clan held a service at Clachan Duich (the ruins of an old church) and we had a free afternoon in Plockton.
